Shaft
The shaft is the long, tubular component that connects the grip (where you hold the club) to the clubhead. It's essentially the "handle" or "pole" of the golf club.
It acts as the engine of the golf club, influencing how the club loads, unloads, and delivers the head into the ball. Shafts vary in weight, flex, torque, and stiffness profiles, and each of these factors changes how the club feels and performs. Even small differences can affect launch, spin, dispersion, and overall consistency.
Fitters focus heavily on choosing the right shaft because it must match a golfer’s tempo, transition, release point, and desired ball flight. A well-fit shaft helps the player maintain rhythm, find the center of the face more often, and produce a predictable trajectory.
When the shaft is matched correctly, the golfer doesn’t have to force the club to work. It complements their natural swing and supports more reliable performance across the entire bag.
