CT (Characteristic Time)

Measure of clubface springiness.

Carry Distance

Distance the ball travels in the air.

Center of Gravity (CG)

Balance point of the clubhead.

Club Fitting

The process of customizing golf clubs to match a player’s swing and physical measurements.

Club Length

Measurement from grip end to clubhead sole.

Club Path

Direction the club is moving at impact.

Club Speed

Speed of the clubhead at impact.

Clubface

A clubface is the flat, front surface of the golf club head that makes contact with the ball at impact.

Clubhead

The part of the golf club that hits the ball.

Coefficient of Restitution (COR)

A measurement of how much energy is transferred from the clubface to the golf ball at impact.

Compact Players Irons

Compact players irons (also called "blades" or "muscle backs") are precision-focused irons designed for skilled golfers who prioritize feel, control, and shot-shaping over forgiveness and distance.

Counterbalancing

The practice of adding weight toward the grip end of a club to shift the balance point higher up the shaft.

Custom Build

Clubs made to fitted specifications.

Descent Angle

Angle at which the ball falls to the ground.

Doppler Radar

A technology used in launch monitors to track and measure golf ball and club data by detecting changes in radio wave frequencies as objects move.

Draw

A draw is a controlled golf shot that curves gently from right to left (for right-handed golfers) or left to right (for left-handed golfers).

Driver Fitting

Fitting for the driver to optimize distance.

Dynamic Fitting

Fitting performed while hitting shots to analyze ball flight and turf interaction.

Dynamic Loft

The loft delivered at impact.

EI Profile

Stiffness profile along the shaft.

Epoxy

Adhesive securing shaft to head.

Face Angle

Orientation of the clubface at impact.

Face Progression

Distance from the shaft axis to clubface.

Fade

A fade is a controlled golf shot that curves gently from left to right (for right-handed golfers) or right to left (for left-handed golfers).

Fairway Wood Fitting

Fitting to optimize launch and spin for woods.

Ferrule

Decorative ring between hosel and shaft.

Fitting Cart

Interchangeable heads and shafts used in fittings.

FlightScope

Doppler radar launch monitor.

Frequency Matching

Matching shaft oscillation frequencies.

Full Bag Fitting

Fitting for all clubs in the bag.

Full Swing KIT

Launch monitor using radar and camera.

GCQuad

Camera-based launch monitor.

GEARS

3D-motion capture for swings.

Game Improvement Irons

Game improvement irons are clubs designed to maximize forgiveness, distance, and ease of use for mid-to-high handicap golfers.

Gap Fitting

Ensuring proper spacing between clubs.

Gapping

Spacing distances evenly between clubs.

Grind

Shaping of the sole to influence turf interaction.

Grip

The rubber, cord, or synthetic covering on the top end of the shaft where you place your hands.

Grip Size

Thickness of the grip that affects hand action.

Heel

The heel is the part of the clubface closest to the shaft and your body or the opposite end from the toe.

High-Speed Video

Video used to analyze swing mechanics.

Hook

An uncontrolled golf shot that curves severely from right to left (for right-handed golfers) or left to right (for left-handed golfers). It's an exaggerated, out-of-control version of a draw.

Hosel

The socket where the shaft attaches to the head.

Hot Melt

Internal weighting method.

Hybrid Fitting

Fitting hybrids to fill distance gaps.

Impact Tape

Tape placed on the face to record strike location.

Inverted Cone Technology

Face tech that expands sweet spot.

Iron Fitting

Fitting irons for consistency.

Jailbreak Technology

Internal stiffening to improve speed.

KVest

Motion-capture vest system.

Kick Point

Point on the shaft that bends most.

Launch Angle

Initial angle of ball flight.

Launch Monitor

A device that measures swing and ball-flight data.

Lead Tape

Tape used to add weight.

Lie Angle

The angle between the shaft and sole that affects direction.

Lie Angle Fitting

Checking lie angle for accuracy.

Lie Board

Board that helps determine lie angle at impact.

Loft

The angle on the clubface that controls trajectory.

Loft/Lie Bending

Adjusting loft and lie angles.

MOI (Moment of Inertia)

A measurement of a clubhead's resistance to twisting when the ball is struck off-center. It's one of the most important factors in club forgiveness.

MOI Matching

Clubs built to same moment of inertia.

Offset

How far the leading edge is behind the hosel.

Parallel Tip

Shaft with a constant tip diameter.

Perimeter Weighting

Weight placed around edges to increase forgiveness.
