What Ball Trajectory Includes

Trajectory is a combination of several visible elements:

• Launch direction
  Where the ball initially starts relative to the target
• Launch angle
  How high the ball leaves the clubface
• Apex height
  The highest point of the ball’s flight
• Curvature
  Draw, fade, hook, slice, or straight
• Descent angle
  How steeply the ball comes down

What Trajectory is Not

• Not just height
• Not just shape
• Not the same as distance
  

Two shots can go the same distance with very different trajectories.

Why it Matters

• Determines carry vs roll
• Affects stopping power on greens
• Influences shot control in wind
• Helps identify swing or fitting issues
