Apex Height
Apex height is the highest point a golf ball reaches during its flight.
Fitters look at this number because it shows how well a club and shaft combination is launching the ball and whether the player is getting enough height for carry distance and proper stopping power.
A shot that peaks too low can lead to reduced carry and poor performance on long approach shots. A shot that peaks too high can balloon and lose distance, especially in windy conditions.
During a fitting, apex height is analyzed alongside launch angle, spin rate, and ball speed. The right balance helps create a predictable ball flight with the ideal blend of carry and control. Adjusting loft, changing shaft profile, or refining swing delivery can all influence apex height. Fitters use this metric to make sure each club produces a consistent gap and performs as intended throughout the bag.
