Ball Fitting
Ball fitting is the process of matching a golfer with a golf ball that supports their swing speed, launch conditions, and on-course needs.
Different balls vary in compression, cover material, spin characteristics, and feel. These differences influence distance off the tee, stopping power on approach shots, and control around the greens. A proper fit helps a player get more consistent yardages and better performance without changing their swing.
During a fitting, a golfer tests several models while a fitter tracks launch, spin, ball speed, and dispersion. The goal is to find a ball that balances distance and control for that specific player.
Many golfers assume the “tour” ball is always best, but fitters often find that a mid-spin or lower-compression option produces more balanced results.
A well-fit ball becomes a quiet advantage, offering predictable flight and more reliable scoring.
