Launch Angle
Launch angle is the angle at which the ball takes off relative to the ground immediately after impact.
It’s one of the primary factors that determine how high the ball will fly and how far it will carry. Launch angle is influenced by dynamic loft, attack angle, strike location, and how the shaft is loading at impact. Even with the same club, two golfers can produce very different launch angles based on how they deliver the club.
Fitters pay close attention to launch angle because it needs to sit within an ideal window for each club. Too low, and the golfer loses carry distance and stopping power. Too high, and the shot can balloon and lose efficiency. Adjusting loft, shaft profile, CG placement, and even ball choice can help dial in launch.
When launch angle is optimized, the golfer gets predictable distance, better dispersion, and a flight that matches their playing needs.
