Dynamic Loft
Dynamic loft is the amount of loft the club has at the moment of impact, not the loft stamped on the clubhead.
It reflects how the golfer delivers the club, including shaft lean, hand position, and how the shaft bends during the swing. Dynamic loft plays a major role in launch angle, spin rate, and overall ball flight. Even two golfers using the same club can produce very different dynamic loft numbers.
Fitters rely on dynamic loft to decide whether changes in shaft profile, loft settings, or technique can help the golfer produce a more efficient ball flight.
If dynamic loft is too high, shots can launch too high and spin too much. If it’s too low, the golfer may struggle to get the ball airborne with enough stopping power.
Finding the right dynamic loft leads to better gapping, more consistent carry distance, and a predictable trajectory.
