Draw
A draw is a shot that starts slightly right of the target for a right-handed golfer and curves gently back toward it.
It’s created when the clubface is closed relative to the club path at impact, but still pointed left of the intended start line.
Draws typically launch a bit lower, spin less, and can produce more roll compared to a fade.
Fitters pay attention to whether a player naturally hits a draw because it influences shaft selection, lie angle, and head design.
Some golfers benefit from equipment that helps reinforce a draw pattern, while others may need something that prevents it from turning into a hook.
Understanding the golfer’s typical shot shape helps the fitter build a setup that delivers distance and control without sacrificing consistency.
