Kick Point

Kick point refers to the area of the shaft that bends the most during the swing.

It’s usually described as low, mid, or high. A low kick point means the shaft flexes more toward the tip, helping the ball launch higher with more spin. A high kick point shifts the bend closer to the grip, producing a lower, more controlled ball flight. Mid kick point sits between the two and works for a wide range of swing types.

Fitters use kick point to fine-tune trajectory and feel. If a golfer struggles to get the ball in the air, a lower kick point can help. If they hit it too high or generate too much spin, a higher kick point may tighten the flight.

The right kick point works with the player’s tempo and release so the shaft loads and unloads naturally, producing consistent launch and predictable ball flight.
