Grip
The grip is the part of the club the golfer holds, usually made from rubber, synthetic materials, or leather.
It affects how securely the player can control the club, as well as the overall feel and comfort during the swing. Grips come in different sizes, textures, and firmness levels. A grip that’s too small can encourage excessive hand action and lead to hooks. One that’s too large can limit wrist movement and promote fades or blocks.
Fitters pay close attention to grip size and weight because both influence swing weight, comfort, and control.
Matching the grip to the golfer’s hand size and preference helps create a stable connection to the club. A well-fit grip promotes a natural release, improves consistency, and helps the golfer maintain confidence through all types of shots.
