Gap Fitting
Gap fitting focuses on making sure the distances between clubs, or gapping, are evenly spaced so the player always has the right yardage option.
It’s common for golfers to have clubs that overlap in distance or leave big gaps, especially around long irons, hybrids, fairway woods, and wedges. A proper gap fitting identifies those inconsistencies and adjusts lofts, shafts, or club selection to create a smooth, predictable progression.
Fitters look at carry distances first, since carry is the most reliable metric. They test each club while tracking launch, spin, and descent angle to see where the numbers cluster or spread too far apart.
Adjustments might include bending lofts, changing models, or swapping a club entirely for something that fits better. After a gap fitting, the golfer ends up with a set that covers every yardage range without guesswork, improving strategy and confidence on the course.
