Wedge Fitting
Wedge fitting focuses on selecting the right lofts, bounces, grinds, and shaft characteristics to give a golfer consistent control around the greens and proper distance gaps between wedges.
Because wedge shots involve many different lie conditions and swing lengths, the fitting looks closely at turf interaction, launch, spin, and how predictable the ball reacts on partial swings. Getting the right loft spacing ensures smooth transitions from pitching wedge down to lob wedge.
Fitters also evaluate bounce and sole grind to match the player’s swing style and the type of turf they usually play. Steeper players or those who play on soft conditions often benefit from more bounce. Shallow players or those on firmer turf may need less.
Shaft weight and feel can also influence distance control. A good wedge fitting helps the golfer hit more consistent trajectories, improve spin performance, and simplify short-game decision-making.
