Perimeter Weighting
Perimeter weighting is a design approach where more mass is placed around the outer edges of the clubhead rather than concentrated in the center.
By spreading the weight outward, the head becomes more stable when the ball is struck off center. This increases MOI and helps maintain ball speed and direction on mishits, which is why perimeter weighting is a key feature in most game-improvement irons and many modern metalwoods.
Fitters value perimeter-weighted designs for golfers who need extra forgiveness or who tend to miss the center of the face. The added stability tightens dispersion and reduces the penalty on slight toe or heel strikes. Players who prefer maximum workability may choose less perimeter weighting, but for most golfers, it provides a noticeable boost in consistency and confidence.
