Lie Angle Fitting
Lie angle fitting focuses on adjusting the angle between the shaft and the sole of the club so the clubhead sits correctly at impact.
Because lie angle affects where the face is pointed at contact, even a small error can send shots off line. A lie angle that’s too upright will cause shots to start left, while one that’s too flat will push shots to the right for a right-handed golfer.
During a lie angle fitting, the fitter evaluates ball-flight patterns, launch monitor data, and how the club interacts with the turf. Sometimes impact tape or a lie board is used to see where the sole is contacting the ground. The goal is to ensure the club returns to the ball in a neutral position with a centered strike.
When lie angles are dialed in properly, irons and wedges become more accurate, more consistent, and easier to control across all types of lies.
