Impact Tape
Impact tape is a thin adhesive strip placed on the clubface to show exactly where the ball makes contact during a swing.
When the ball hits the tape, it leaves a clear mark, revealing whether the strike was centered, toward the toe or heel, or high or low on the face. This simple tool helps diagnose issues that launch monitors can’t always show by themselves, such as subtle strike patterns or inconsistent contact.
Fitters use impact tape to confirm how well a golfer is delivering the club and to guide decisions about length, lie angle, head design, and shaft selection. Even small patterns in impact location can explain changes in launch, spin, and dispersion.
By pairing tape results with launch data, the fitter can spot trends quickly and choose equipment that helps the golfer find the center more often.
