Static Fitting
Static fitting is the initial stage of club fitting where measurements are taken without the golfer hitting shots.
Common measurements include height, wrist-to-floor distance, hand size, and basic posture. These help estimate starting points for club length, lie angle, grip size, and sometimes shaft flex.
Static fitting doesn’t replace hitting balls, but it narrows down the options before moving into dynamic testing.
Fitters use static data as a guideline, not a final answer. Two golfers with the same measurements can deliver the club very differently.
Static fitting simply ensures the starting setup isn’t wildly out of range. Once the golfer begins hitting shots, dynamic fitting takes over to confirm or adjust those initial recommendations.
When used together, static and dynamic fitting create a more accurate, personalized set of specs.
